Five Minute Follies OPEN CALL Auditions, Saturday, May 19th, 2012

By popular demand, we will be holding one OPEN CALL for the Five Minute Follies on Saturday, May 19th, from 12pm to 4pm, at the Rotunda, 4014 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104. Click here for directions to the Rotunda

PLEASE NOTE: This will be the only Follies OPEN CALL in 2012.

We will be looking for acts for all future Follies shows.

As always, we want to see every kind of act imaginable: singers, dancers/dance troupes, comics, sketch/improv groups, poets/spoken word artists/storytellers, clowns, musicians, jugglers, sideshow performers, contortionists, magicians, unusual and hard-to-classify acts, anything you can do that is entertaining in 5 minutes or less. Special consideration given to family-friendly acts, although we also welcome acts appropriate to a 21-plus audience.

PLEASE DOWNLOAD AND FILL OUT THE AUDITION FORM BELOW and bring it with you to the audition.

Auditions are on a first-come, first-served basis.

No bands, but solo artists welcome with own accompaniment (single instrument live accompaniment or CD with backing tracks). No pyrotechnics, no nudity, no animal acts.

Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Rotunda, 4014 Walnut St., Philadelphia, PA

We are seeking singers, dancers, comics, clowns, jugglers, sideshow performers, contortionists, magicians, and especially hard-to-classify acts–anything with a PIRATE ELEMENT. Content must be appropriate for an all ages audience.

On Saturday, April 7th, Five Minute Follies will present a special all-singing edition of the Follies, “Swingin’ the Standards – A Salute to the Great American Songbook”, at the Rotunda in Philadelphia, PA.

We are seeking singers. To be considered, please send video (as links or an attachment) to michaelsubvert@msn.com.

If cast, you will be able to choose your own songs (2 per performer) from the Great American Songbook.

The Bearded Ladies Cabaret Philadelphia

Performers have just been announced for The Marriage Equality Cabaret, scheduled for Saturday, Feb 4th, 2012 in Philadelphia. The bill will include the amazing Bearded Ladies, seen recently in the sold-out Edith Piaf cabaret “No Regrets: A Piaf Affair” at the Wilma Theatre, as well as the return of the hip and happenin’ singing duo The Lords of Liechtenstein, powerful singer-songwriter Crystal Cheatham, wacky NYC musical-comedy duo The Parodivas, the always hilarious and insightful Jess Carpenter, soulful singer Nathan Nolen Edwards, and local rock n roll diva Chrissy Pryor.
