Pirates Invade the Five Minute Follies June 9th, 2012 in Philadelphia, PA
On Saturday, June 9th at 8pm, the Rotunda at 4014 Walnut Street in Philadelphia will hoist the Jolly Roger, when Pirates Invade the Five Minute Follies for an evening of entertainment suitable for the entire family.
This special Pirate-themed edition of the Five Minute Follies variety show includes an appearance by Valhalla’s Pirates, a swashbuckling high-energy stunt show that appeals to all ages. Valhalla’s Pirates have performed up and down the East Coast—at the Franklin Institute, Key West, Shampoo Nightclub, at Baltimore Privateer Day, on the Spirit of Philadelphia, and for the release of three Pirates of the Caribbean movies. They have won several awards, including Best of Bay in Chesapeake Magazine and a number of trophies from the Mummers Parade.
The Ruddy Jacks and Luna Seas will also be on hand to lead the crowd in a rousing Pirate Sing-a-Long.
Additional Pirate activities will include a Pirate Costume Contest (with both Kid and Adult Divisions) and a Pirate Joke-Off, where audience members can compete to see who can tell the best Pirate Joke. Attendees can register for the Pirate Costume Contest and the Pirate Joke-Off at the door on the day of the show.
Other acts on the bill include Comedian Roundboy Jimmy Graham, NYC Balladeer Lorraine Leckie, Hank Curry clowning around as Mr. Klop, the improv comedy troupe Better Than Bacon, and more.
