Soul of a Chanteuse (Tamara Anderson)

Tamara Anderson is a multi-talented singer, actor, writer, and director.

She has been featured in such musicals as Ain’t Misbehavin, Little Shop of Horrors and Violet, as well as numerous plays in various regional theaters across the country. Recent credits include Motormouth Maybelle in Hairspray and Straight Arrow in Dr. Dolittle, both for the Media Theatre in Media, PA.

Film roles include Customer Jiwanda in Barbershop 2 and a female officer in The Nail: The Joey Nardone Story.

She was also a part of Bailiwick Director’s Festival in Chicago where she directed her ten-minute play entitled Girls Nite Out. In addition, she has directed For Colored Girls who’ve considered suicide when the rainbow isn’t enuf and The Colored Museum in a partnership between the Goodman Theater and the Art Institute.

She had such a full professional, theatrical and musical experience in Chicago that she decided it was time to relocate to NYC and now Philly where she intends to continue her artistic career.

Her one-person show Soul of a Chanteuse has been called a collage of poetry and soul music, and has been featured at such venues as the Duplex, Perks and the Cutting Room in NYC. Her book, Soul of a Chanteuse is being sold on lulu.com. It is a collection of poems and stories from the show. Her company Dellatee Enterprises provides grant writing and curriculum development for not for profit organizations.
